Human nature is an interesting and complex thing; even though we have more than enough capacity to understand and transcend our animalistic and power-tripping nature, we are still enslaved by it and, thus, doomed to repeat the same patterns over and over again. And it surely doesn't help that the entire society is built upon principles that promote division and inequality in the first place.
